His story

Salvatore Ferragamo fonde la maison éponyme à Florence en 1927, après avoir connu le succès aux États-Unis en tant que bottier des stars d’Hollywood. Après sa mort en 1960, l’entreprise reste familiale et se développe dans le prêt-à-porter, la maroquinerie et les accessoires. Les lunettes Ferragamo apparaissent dans les années 80, sous licence avec de grands fabricants italiens tels que Luxottica ou Marchon, selon les périodes et les marchés. La marque s’implante fortement en Asie et en Amérique du Nord, en maintenant une image élégante et intemporelle, associée à la tradition artisanale italienne.

- Le SF 125 (années 90), de forme rectangulaire douce avec logo Gancini doré.

- Le SF 623S, aux branches évasées, typique du début des années 2000.

- Des séries fabriquées au Japon pour le marché asiatique, souvent numérotées avec la mention “Made in Japan”.

Le Gancini, symbole iconique de Ferragamo, vient du crochet en fer forgé présent sur les anciennes portes du Palais Spini Feroni, siège historique de la maison à Florence. Ce motif, devenu signature, a été progressivement intégré à l’ensemble des lignes de produits, y compris les lunettes de soleil, dès les années 90. Il permet d’identifier rapidement certaines séries vintage auprès des collectionneurs.
