The brand's DNA
The brand's DNA
Moschino embodies irony in the service of style. Founded in Milan in 1983, the Italian fashion house subverts luxury codes with controlled nonchalance. Anti-conformist and joyfully provocative, it cultivates a pop and theatrical spirit. Its sunglasses, like its clothing, feature unexpected details, repurposed references, and a healthy dose of humor—without ever neglecting quality craftsmanship.
His story
His story
Franco Moschino, the founder of the brand, trained as a stylist at Versace, founded his own fashion house to break with established codes. In the 1980s and 1990s, he made Moschino a benchmark for subversive fashion, playing with symbols: oversized logos, printed slogans, and reimaginings of everyday objects. His collections shock as much as they seduce, combining critical thinking with an ultra-polished aesthetic. After his death in 1994, his legacy remains intact—and cult!
The iconic frames
The iconic frames
Moschino frames are distinguished by their heart-shaped or chain-like shapes, a nod to ironic romanticism. The “Moschino” logos, often gilded and sometimes inlaid into the frame, are displayed without restraint. The baroque aesthetic, bright colors, and flashy lenses fully capture the spirit of the 90s. Some pairs incorporate repurposed elements like jewels, peace signs, or pop symbols. The temples, meanwhile, are sometimes sculpted into ribbons, flowers, or jewel-like links.
Did you know?
Did you know?
Some Moschino glasses from the 90s were inspired by everyday objects: hangers, scissors, jewelry... Franco Moschino loved to play with fashion symbols and turn them on their head with humor. One famous pair, for example, mimics a gold plastic chain bearing the brand's name like a rapper's necklace.
Why collect?
Why collect?
- Because they tell a different story of fashion: critical, joyful, unexpected.
- Because they are carefully made from durable materials (thick acetate, metal, inlays).
- Because they embody the spirit of the 80s and 90s, a key period for lovers of postmodern design.
- Because a pair of vintage Moschinos is both an aesthetic statement and a clever nod.
- Because they have become rare pieces, sought after by collectors and fashion enthusiasts.
