The brand's DNA
The brand's DNA
Christian Dior embodies a vision of elegance that is both classic and innovative, always focused on the silhouette. In eyewear, the brand transposes its couture spirit into sculptural shapes, textures, and technical materials. Dior glasses from the 1970s to 1990s are distinguished by their generous volumes, graphic lines, and luxurious finishes, often highlighted by the gold logo or discreet monogram. A style that is assertive yet always structured, faithful to the heritage of the New Look.
His story
His story
Founded in Paris in 1946 by Christian Dior, the house quickly established itself as a symbol of the post-war revival of French fashion. Dior eyewear began to flourish in the 1960s, with collections designed under license with Optyl International. This partnership with the German manufacturer marked a turning point: Dior became one of the first houses to make eyewear a fashion accessory in its own right. Produced primarily in Germany at Optyl factories, the frames were distinguished by their avant-garde shapes and the use of innovative materials, notably Optyl.

Did you know?
Did you know?
Dior was one of the very first fashion houses to collaborate with Optyl International, back in the 1960s. This strategic partnership allowed for experimentation with new shapes thanks to Optyl, a patented, ultra-light, thermosetting material. Some Dior frames were even presented as “optical sculptures” in the professional catalogs of the time.
Why collect them?
Why collect them?
Vintage Christian Dior eyewear combines bold design, innovative materials, and German manufacturing quality. They reflect a pivotal moment when eyewear evolved from a simple accessory to a true stylistic expression. Models produced under the Optyl license, particularly between 1975 and 1995, are sought after for their comfort, durability, and aesthetics emblematic of the postmodern decades. A collection that attracts fashion lovers and optical design enthusiasts alike.
