Collection: Kappa
Kappa is an Italian brand founded in 1967, known for its iconic "Omini" logo depicting a man and a woman sitting back to back. Coming from the world of sports, it made its mark in the 1980s and 1990s by outfitting football clubs and renowned athletes. Discover our favorite Kappa frames, designed by Vision Janine, here.
The brand's DNA
The brand's DNA
Kappa embodies the spirit of Italian sport tinged with urban culture. Its "Omini" logo, designed in 1968 and popularized in the late 1960s, depicts a man and a woman sitting back to back as a symbol of equality.
The brand was born on the sports fields before becoming a fashion phenomenon, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s thanks to big teams like Juventus and FC Barcelona.
His story
His story
The company's roots go back to Maglificio Calzificio Torinese (1916), a manufacturer of socks and lingerie. In 1956, a "K" code for "Kontrolle" was placed on its products, which led to a relaunch in 1967 under the name Kappa.
Maurizio Vitale transformed the logo into a true sociocultural testimony in 1968, inspired by an accidental artistic photo.
In the 80s/90s, Kappa sponsored major international teams and stars such as Carl Lewis (athletics, USA) through strategic agreements.
The eyewear line officially begins in collaboration with LGR in 2022 (capsule “Robe di Occhiali”), before the more recent agreement with Visibilia planned for 2025.
