La maison Valentino est fondée en 1960 à Rome par Valentino Garavani, rapidement reconnue pour ses créations couture et son fameux “rouge Valentino”. Dès les années 1980, la marque investit la lunetterie, via des licences avec des fabricants italiens, notamment Safilo. Ces décennies voient naître des lunettes où le design oversize et l’utilisation de matériaux nobles (acétate italien, métal doré) traduisent l’univers couture de la maison. Les lunettes Valentino deviennent alors des accessoires incontournables, associant savoir-faire industriel et esthétique haute couture.
