Collection: Nina Ricci

Nina Ricci vintage sunglasses embody a delicate luxury, between Parisian romanticism and the audacity of the 70s, 80s and 90s.

The brand's DNA

Nina Ricci cultivates a feminine, soft, and timeless elegance. Her style is based on fluid lines, graceful details, and a form of luminous classicism. In the world of sunglasses, this translates into graceful frames, both distinguished and accessible, always designed to enhance without dominating. The Nina Ricci signature evokes a certain French art de vivre, sensitive and sophisticated.

His story

The Nina Ricci fashion house was founded in 1932 in Paris by Maria "Nina" Ricci, an Italian milliner and stylist, alongside her son Robert. From the very beginning, the brand captivated with its fluid, feminine, and exquisite creations, before establishing itself in perfumery with the success of L'Air du Temps in 1948. From the 1970s onward, Nina Ricci developed licensed eyewear collections, produced by European manufacturers, often in Italy or France. These models extended the house's elegance into the field of fashion accessories.

The iconic frames

Vintage Nina Ricci sunglasses are recognizable by their soft, often oversized curves, sometimes rounded cat-eye or soft rectangle. The materials used are primarily acetate or gold-plated metal, with meticulous finishes, sometimes enriched with floral motifs, pearly touches, or discreet logos. The house name frequently appears engraved on the inside of the temples, along with the word “Paris,” affirming its roots in the tradition of French couture.

Did you know?

In the 1980s, some Nina Ricci frames were designed in collaboration with the French company L'Amy, then one of the world's leading eyewear manufacturers. This partnership allowed the brand to combine its sense of style with high-tech manufacturing, particularly for models with fine metal frames and engraved ornaments.

Why collect them?

Nina Ricci glasses offer a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, with shapes that stand the test of time without losing their charm. Their European manufacturing guarantees a high level of finish, whether in the acetate work or the metal structures. Relatively rare on the second-hand market, they attract lovers of romantic eyewear, as well as collectors with a taste for the historic brands of Parisian couture.
